The Basics
ReconFive Aviation Intelligence Overview:

What is Aviation Intelligence?

What is Aviation Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)?

Aviation OSINT is a subset of Aviation Intelligence:

-
It is the systematic gathering, analysis and dissemination of aviation-related information at the tactical level that can be legally accessed from publicly-available sources, usually on the Internet, in order to provide needed insights into a risk, condition or opportunity

-
It is usually real-time or near-real-time

-
It is tactical in nature, i.e., focused at the case (tactical) level and not the strategic level which attempts to answer broad questions with long time horizons

-
There is no known official or even unofficial definition of Aviation Intelligence or OSINT but ReconFive is pleased to be a pioneer in its development and meaning.

Methodologies
Aviation is a data-heavy, procedure-based activity. ReconFive seeks to leverage various sources aviation data using contemporary data analysis, AI and data visualization tools with good, old-fashion elbow grease to uncover the answers to tough questions.

Aviation procedures are well-established and predictable. Aircraft operations, performance and capabilities are well-known and predictable. When an operational procedure is intentionally or unintentionally not accomplished, the data will show it or air traffic control will start asking questions.

Aviation Intelligence is the confluence of three core measurable components, all of which each leaves an information trail which is comprised of collectable data (albeit some easier to obtain and analyze than others):

-
Persons: Pilots and passengers
-
Places: Airports
-
Things: Aircraft

Correlating these three data sets to provide information and useful/desired knowledge is what Aviation Intelligence is all about.

ReconFive uses:

-
Access to numerous aviation data and media sources

-
AI tools for precise data interrogations and analysis

-
Data visualization tools

-
Open source social media exploitation techniques

-
Dogged human-based experiential data analytics
